Fairhope Tots program is designed to introduce the game of soccer to 3-4 year old players and their parents. Our program uses fun games to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and self-confidence. It is imperative for at least one parent/guardian to participate with their child during each session. After a few sessions, the parent/guardian involvement may decrease as the child becomes more comfortable.
Why do we encourage the parent to participate? First, the child is more likely to participate if they see their parent/guardian playing. Secondly, participation could inspire the parent to enjoy the game of soccer and become a member of our coaching team in the future years.
Parent volunteers are crucial during our small-sided games. We ask parents of the team to be the "bumpers" around the field that the Tots are playing in order to keep the ball in play. This Spring, we will need one parent per team to be the assistant coach to keep the Tots organized during the game. If you would like to be that parent, please sign up when registering your player.
- 25 minutes with Coach Ferguson: motor skills, ball mastery/control/skills
- 25 minutes small sided games: Coach Ferguson will require a parents to be "bumpers" to keep the ball in play. We will also need one parent from each team to manage our tots as small sided games are being played.
What does my Tot need? A parent or guardian, size 3 ball, black shorts & socks, cleats or tennis shoes and plenty of water.
